DSECT

Effective 23 September 2026

Privacy Policy

This policy covers the dsect.net website and the tools DSECT builds for its own use that connect to Google accounts. The short version: the website collects nothing, and our tools use Google data only to move our own documents between Google Drive and our own servers.

Who we are

DSECT (Developmental Systems, Engineering & Computing Technologies) is an independent technology lab. You can reach us at [email protected].

This website

dsect.net is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and has no forms or accounts. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may record visitors' IP addresses in its server logs for security and operations, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. We do not receive or use those logs.

Google user data

Some of our internal tools sign in to Google with OAuth to work with files in Google Drive. These tools are not offered to the public: the only Google accounts that connect to them are accounts belonging to DSECT and its founder.

What we access

Files and folders in the connected account's Google Drive, including their names, contents and metadata, through the Google Drive API.

How we use it

To keep DSECT's own documentation available on our own servers: reading documents from Drive, and writing edited documents back. DSECT's AI assistants, including models run by third-party AI providers on our behalf, may read those documents in order to carry out work the account owner has asked for. We use Google user data for nothing else.

How we store and protect it

Access tokens are stored only on DSECT-operated servers, in files readable by nothing but the service that uses them, and are never published or synced to cloud storage. Document contents are cached on the same hardware to keep the sync working.

Sharing

We do not sell Google user data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness. We do not use it to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine-learning models. We transfer it only as described above, as required by law, or with the account owner's explicit consent.

DSECT's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Keeping and deleting it

We keep tokens and cached files only while a tool is connected. You can disconnect at any time from your Google account permissions, which invalidates our access immediately. Email [email protected] and we will delete any stored tokens and cached data for your account within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the effective date above.
